CITY COUNCIL

June 24, 2026                                                                                                              Louisville, NE

A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Louisville was held on June 24, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.  Present were Mayor Rod Petersen, and Council Members Justin Barnes and Jerry McClun. Jamion Biesterfeld and Paul Pankonin were absent. Mayor Petersen stated that the Open Meetings Act is posted at the rear of the room and a copy of all meeting materials is available with the clerk.

 

Notice of the regular meeting was given in advance thereof by posting in three (3) public places as shown by the certificate attached to these minutes.  Notice was simultaneously given to all council members.  Their acknowledgement of receipt of notice and the agenda is attached to these minutes.  All proceedings thereafter were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.

 

Mayor Petersen opened the hearing at 5:31 p.m. to hear support, opposition, criticism, suggestions, or observations from the public relating to the acquisition of real estate from LRDH, LLC, legally described as Lot 257 and the South 22 feet of Lot 258, Village of Louisville, Cass County, Nebraska and The North 2 feet of Lot 258 and all of Lot 259, Village of Louisville, Cass County, Nebraska. There was no public comment. Mayor Petersen closed the hearing at 5:32 p.m.

 

Councilman Biesterfeld entered the meeting at 5:35 pm.

 

McClun moves, Barnes seconds to acquire the real estate described as Lot 257 and the South 22 feet of Lot 258, Village of Louisville, Cass County, Nebraska and The North 2 feet of Lot 258 and all of Lot 259, Village of Louisville, Cass County, Nebraska pursuant to the terms of the proposed purchase agreement, including the purchase price of $120,000 subject to credits and prorations. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Barnes, Biesterfeld; absent – Pankonin. Motion carried.

 

McClun moves, Biesterfeld seconds to approve Resolution 26-08; Purchase property legally described as Lot 257 and the South 22 feet of Lot 258, Village of Louisville, Cass County, Nebraska and The North 2 feet of Lot 258 and all of Lot 259, Village of Louisville, Cass County, Nebraska from LRDH, LLC. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Barnes, Biesterfeld; absent – Pankonin. Motion carried.

McClun moves, Biesterfeld seconds to approve Resolution 26-07; Conditional Use Permit OPTK Networks Security Fencing. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Barnes, Biesterfeld; absent – Pankonin. Motion carried.

 

Council discussed the invoice issued to Omaha Public Power District for damages done near N Depot St. Mayor Petersen will contact OPPD to coordinate recoupment.

 

Biesterfeld moves, Barnes seconds to adjourn the meeting at 5:57 p.m. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Barnes, Biesterfeld; absent – Pankonin. Motion carried.
