CITY COUNCIL

June 8, 2022                                                                                                                Louisville, NE

A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Louisville was held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.  Present were Council Members Jerry McClun, Martyn Myers and Larry Gulizia. Mayor Rod Petersen and Jamion Biesterfeld were absent. Also present were guests. Council President McClun stated that the Open Meetings Act is posted at the rear of the room and a copy of all meeting materials is available with the clerk.

 

Notice of the regular meeting was given in advance thereof by posting in three (3) public places as shown by the certificate attached to these minutes.  Notice was simultaneously given to all council members.  Their acknowledgement of receipt of notice and the agenda is attached to these minutes.  All proceedings thereafter were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.

 

Council President McClun called the meeting to order and asked the Council to review the consent agenda. Myers moves, Gulizia seconds to approve the consent agenda. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Gulizia, Myers; absent – Biesterfeld. Motion carried.

 

Darlene Petrizilka reported for the care center. She said the 50th Anniversary was a big success.

 

Gulizia moves, Myers seconds to approve the use of the ball fields by Amber Ostblom for yoga on Thursdays staring June 9, 2022 at 6:45 a.m. with the stipulation that all participants file a waiver with the city. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Gulizia, Myers; absent – Biesterfeld. Motion carried.

 

Gulizia moves, Myers seconds to approve the special designated liquor from Good Times Saloon; Saturday, July 23, 2022 on Main Street from 2nd to 3rd from 4:00 p.m. to midnight for Dynamite Pete Days. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Gulizia, Myers; absent – Biesterfeld. Motion carried.

 

Myers moves, Gulizia seconds to approve the special designated liquor from Good Times Saloon; Sunday, July 24, 2022 on Main Street for 25X25 foot space in front of bar (including three parking spaces) from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for Hot Sunday in July car show. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Gulizia, Myers; absent – Biesterfeld. Motion carried.

 

Myers moves to approve the special designated liquor from Good Times Saloon; Saturday, August 20, 2022 on Main Street for 25X25 foot space in front of bar (including three parking spaces) from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Motion died for lack of second.

 

Good Times withdrew the request for SDL for September 17, 2022.

 

Myers moves, Gulizia seconds to approve the use of city generator by Louisville Foundation for Dynamite Pete Days. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Gulizia, Myers; absent – Biesterfeld. Motion carried.

 

There was no report for street, water and sewer.

 

A written sheriff’s report was circulated. No reports for fire/rescue.

 

An internal audit was conducted verifying checks to invoices by the council members.

 

Myers moves, Gulizia seconds to adopt Ordinance #1026; annexation of A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 23, TOWNSHIP 12 NORTH, RANGE 11 EAST OF THE 6TH P.M., AND OUTLOT “B” OF EAST RIDGE, AND ADJOINING LOTS 21 THROUGH 27, AND LOT 9 OF EAST RIDGE, A SUBDIVISION LOCATED IN CASS COUNTY, NEBRASKA by title only on third and final reading. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Gulizia, Myers; absent – Biesterfeld. Motion carried.

 

Myers moves, McClun seconds to adjourn the meeting at 7:24 p.m. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Gulizia, Myers; absent – Biesterfeld. Motion carried.
