PLANNING COMMISSION

 

March 30, 2026                                                                                                             Louisville, NE

The Louisville Planning Commission meeting was held on March 30, 2026 at the Louisville City Hall and called to order by Chairman Jim Ryan at 6:00 p.m. Members present were Jason Sellers, Mandy Wetterberg, Andy Mixan, Colby Johnson, and Ben Barenz. Jim Ryan, Dan Huber, and Jason McClun were absent. Also present were Joel Jones, Public Works Director and guests. Pro-tem Chairwoman Wetterberg stated that a copy of the open meetings act is located at the rear of the room.

Sellers moves, Barenz seconds to approve the minutes of the January 5, 2026 meeting. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote of those attending.

Joel Jones briefed the commission on the recent effort to improve Main Street by focusing on unused or misused retail space. The commission offered suggestions on incentives for Main Street building owners to make their spaces more appealing.

There was brief discussion about tiny homes and businesses due to a planned development in Springfield, just across the river.

Review of Section 4 of the Comprehensive Plan has been postponed to the next meeting.

Sellers moves, Mixan seconds to adjourn the meeting at 7:05 p.m. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote of those attending.
