Planning Commission Minutes July 1, 2024

CITY OF LOUISVILLE

PLANNING COMMISSION

July 1, 2024                                                                                                                    Louisville, NE

The Louisville Planning Commission meeting was held on July 1, 2024 at the Louisville City Hall and called to order by Pro-tem Chairperson Jim Ryan at 7:00 p.m. Members present Chuck Meyer, Jason McClun, Jason Sellers, Colby Johnson and Mandy Wetterberg. Ronda Anderson and Dan Huber were absent. Also present was Joel Jones, Public Works Director. Pro-tem Chairperson Ryan stated that a copy of the open meetings act is located at the rear of the room.

Ryan moves, McClun seconds to approve the minutes of the March 4, 2024 meeting. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote of those attending.

There was a preliminary discussion of the discharge of firearms in the one-mile extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ). Joel gave a background on the subject. This would affect residential zoning districts, not transitional agriculture (TA). Enforcement was discussed. Member Johnson said The Ridges HOA has addressed the issue and allows the discharge of firearms. The clerk will ask the other HOAs if they have policies. No action taken as more research will be done.

There was also a preliminary discussion on the use of storage containers in all zoning districts. There were questions about size, look, setbacks, etc. The clerk will ask other clerks, particularly Plattsmouth, what regulations look like for storage containers. No action taken as more research will be done.

There was no review of the comprehensive plan.

Joel gave an update on projects around town.

Meyer moves, McClun seconds to adjourn the meeting at 7:33 p.m. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote of those attending.
