A meeting of the City Council of the City of Louisville was held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present were Mayor Rod Petersen, Council Members Jerry McClun, Jamion Biesterfeld, Justin Barnes and Martyn Myers. Mayor Petersen stated that the Open Meetings Act is posted at the rear of the room and a copy of all meeting materials is available with the clerk.
Notice of the regular meeting was given in advance thereof by posting in three (3) public places as shown by the certificate attached to these minutes. Notice was simultaneously given to all council members. Their acknowledgement of receipt of notice and the agenda is attached to these minutes. All proceedings thereafter were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.
Mayor Petersen called the meeting to order and asked the Council to review the consent agenda. Biesterfeld moves, McClun seconds to approve the consent agenda. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Myers, Biesterfeld, Barnes. Motion carried.
There was a lengthy discussion with representatives from Louisville Public School regarding participation in a resource officer. The council looked favorably on the idea and will do more research.
The proposed budget was discussed. Julie Bauman CPA was present and the council thoroughly reviewed the budget.
Biesterfeld moves, McClun seconds to instruct the clerk to prepare an ordinance for Louisville Care Center (LCC) hiring incentive pay and referral bonuses revised as discussed. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Myers, Biesterfeld, Barnes. Motion carried.
McClun moves, Myers seconds to approve the annual transfer of 5% of net cash provided by operating activities from LCC to city general funds in the amount of $3,868.45. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Myers, Biesterfeld, Barnes. Motion carried.
Myers moves, McClun seconds to introduce by title only and suspend the three requires statutory readings of Ordinance 1031; fee schedule. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Myers, Biesterfeld, Barnes. Motion carried. Biesterfeld moves, McClun seconds to adopt Ordinance 1031 by title only on third and final reading. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Myers, Biesterfeld, Barnes. Motion carried.
Myers moves, Biesterfeld seconds to adjourn the meeting at 7:05 p.m. Roll call vote: ayes – McClun, Myers, Biesterfeld, Barnes. Motion carried.
